Founded in 1837, Abraham Moon are one of the last remaining vertical woollen mills in Great Britain, with a reputation for consistent quality and innovative design.

The Mill

Since their establishment in 1837, bales of raw wool have been arriving at the mill's doorstep to begin the process of creating beautiful fabrics.

Abraham Moon are now one of Great Britain's last remaining vertical woollen mills, meaning they are among a select few who continue to complete all processes on one site.

The Manufacturing Process

Abraham Moon use an eight-stage manufacturing process that creates their unique fabric, starting with the raw wool which is then dyed, blended with other dyed batches to create their unique colours before being carded to remove any impurities.

The richly blended wool is then spun into yarn, woven into fabric and finally scoured (washed) milled and finished, resulting in the beautiful fabrics we see on our hats.
