      It’s in the detail….

      Have to say that the Hat Shop were fast on their feet, I ordered on a Wednesday evening, hat was then delivered on Friday - National Wear a Hat Day according to Lock & Co! The hat certainly looked as their photos, it fits my 61cm head well, good shaping on the head and in the brim. I was a little let down by a diagonal crease in the front wall and beneath that the coloured band is stitched slightly unevenly, something of a quality control issue I suspect, but otherwise it’s a splendid hat that will settle with age and has performed well in recent sunnier weather. Higher than 4 stars, not quite 5.

      First of all, they actually had a Stetson pork pie hat in my size and the colour I wanted. At a fair-ish price. Which, through the marvels of modern technology they managed to get to my door when they said the would. Compared to driving to Salisbury from up here in the frozen North, and visiting the shop, this was the least inconvenient way of owning the hat I liked.
